df_linux/libs (which are the program binaries), and see if you have any missing audio, video, font etc libraries then install these via your normal package management tools. If you still have no luck try running ldd against everything in. tar.bz2 straight from if you installed that way, unpacking/installing, and repeating the process after copying the save only.
I would suggest getting a fresh copy of the package or distribution bundle if you installed this way, or the. df_linux/data/save is really the only thing you need to carry between one install and the next, or to migrate the existing savegame to a newer df release in as much as is possible.
